TREY SEGAL will be played by Barry
Levine
Trey is 30 years old, He lives entirely based on what he thinks he is supposed to do rather than what he wants to do. He went through college studying software engineering because his mom thought it would land him a well paying job. Now, 8 years into a career working for big companies in small cubicles, he is starting to implode. He has suppressed his own needs and desires so completely, that they have manifested into a dark and dangerous addiction to sexual gratification outside of a loving relationship. He abuses pornography, seeks out anonymous sex and visits prostitutes. Outwardly he is shy and compliant, but he has inside him a passion and need to do some good in the world, but he doesn't know how. |

STARR will be played by Gillian Chadsey Starr is 25 years old and although she was brought up in a middle class family has rejected the bourgeois ideals and lifestyle and instead of following her family's wishes, has lived on the street and by her wits for 6 years. She idealizes Gene, her 60-year-old boyfriend, and the two of them dysfunctionally support each other. She has taken to heavy drug use, including heroin, an d is on her way to developing a habit. Following Gene's example, she blames society for her own inability to make a life for herself, and as is natural, the cycle is self-perpetuating.

SENORA GUERO will be played by Gillian Chadsey Senora Guero is a 76 year old retired widow living life slowly and deliberately. She is barely financially stable, but is hoping to eke out a few more years living as modestly as she can. She likes Trey because he is always polite and friendly and is a quiet neighbor. She has lived a pretty hard life, performing janitorial work for 33 years until her hip gave out crawling under one too many desks. Her husband Eduardo was an alcoholic and their relationship was difficult, but she respected him and the sanctity of marriage.

DANA will be played by Gillian Chadsey Dana is a 32 year old software engineer. She balances her work life with a loving relationship with her finance Keith, and playing guitar and singing at open mics at cafes on the weekends. She is open and caring, though savvy enough to have healthy boundaries. She is smart and a good engineer, but can't give her heart and soul to her job, so she has stayed at a middle level engineer, and probably will for the foreseeable future. |

RICH will be played by Olin Hyde Rich is 40 years old and is an entrepreneur trying to strike it rich in the goldrush of the Internet Revolution. He is divorced. He treats his personal relationships with the same attitude as he treats his work. Both are guided by a selfishness that he justifies by his belief that everyone is out for themselves and he owes it to himself to go for exactly what he wants, cuz no one else is going to give it to him. He is suave and charismatic, and so usually does get what he wants. Still, he is determined to hit the big one this time, and nothing, including moral or ethical standards are going to get in his way. |
GENE SEGAL will be played by Olin Hyde Gene is a 60 year old burnout. He was very active in the protest movement of the late sixties but as the movement faded, he found he had no direction of his own. He has stumbled through most of his life with big ideals, but without the courage to put them into action. He is an Astrologer, and sees the world very fatalistically. In some sense, he doesn't believe that he has the agency to change anything, and so his life has mainly fallen apart. He has become an alcoholic and he lives very close to the edge of society. He hasn't worked a steady job in 10 years, his income is primarily from SDI, welfare, occasional drug dealing, and doing astrological charts. He is a poet, and justifies his bohemian lifestyle believing it's the only way he can be true to his art. Charismatic and intelligent, most of his friends look up to him as a leader, unfortunately he is too cowardly to lead his own life. |

ANNE SEGAL (MOM) will be played by Joan Bernier Trey's mother is 55 years old, and works as a travel agent at a large corporation. Single for more years than she was married to Trey's father, She kept his last name for her kids' sake. She has never remarried and doesn't really go out on dates. Her free time is spent consuming mass produced culture; television, shopping malls, talk radio, etc. She is consumed by the promise of Madison Avenue's best work. Her home is filled with gadgets and contraptions that promised to make her life complete. Her biggest fear is that her son Trey will follow in his father's footsteps and retreat from society and go broke. She believes in putting other's needs before one's own, and that "doing the right thing" means keeping your problems to yourself and not speaking out. |
LINDSEY will be played by Joan Bernier Lindsey is a smart, well-adjusted corporate citizen who happens to be a lesbian. She is a good boss, listens to her employees, and makes them feel heard, but at all times is serving the corporate structure. Her personal life is kept strictly separate from her work life, but she also isn't in the closet about being gay. Her partner Elizabeth regularly attends company social events and is well liked by Lindsey's staff. |

BENJAMIN will be played by Michael Wohl Ben is a 27 year old software engineer. His life revolves around new wacky techno-toys, video games, comic books and junk food. He is also caught up in the frenzy to strike it rich in the Dot Com economy. But truthfully, he has never thought of what he would do if he won the Silicon Valley Lottery. He is funny and energetic and focused on immediate gratification. He believes that the end justify the means, and the ultimate "ends" are all about money. |
